History
In 1965, the company began in a very small building off Van Dyke Avenue in Utica. The initial specialty of Pesco was in the area of clips and fasteners. As the business grew, 1972 found the company moving to a 4,000 sq. foot building on Auburn Road. Over the next 20 years, Pesco expanded its specialty base into larger 3D contoured parts; insert molds, interior dash parts, and under-hood components. 1991 saw the addition of another 6,000 sq. feet of space, and work in exterior components and rotary two-shot tools. A 4,400 sq. ft. building was purchased next to Pesco in 2002 and the molding operation began. 2003 launched a new era for Pesco with the addition of off shore tool sourcing. To date Pesco has built over 125 tools off shore.
Pesco is a third generation manufacturer of high-quality prototype and production injection molds. Gerald G. Smigelski, who later turned the reins over to his son Gerald A. Smigelski, originally owned the company. G. Todd Smigelski took over as President of the company 25 years later.
